May 2011 – Kalofer

The team carried on field work in the town of Kalofer, the hometown of Hristo Botev. During this period of time various events were going on there. We had the opportunity to see an exhibition of retro-cars that participated in the retro-rally Valley of Roses which was passing the town. Another local initiative was the regional competition of weightlifting for youth. The functioning fulling mill in the town is another potentially rich but hardly developed tourist resource.
